CAT stands for Common Admission Test
Common Admission Test (CAT) is an all-India test conducted by the (IIMs) the IIMs stands for Indian Institutes of Management as an entrance test for the management programmes of six business schools.
The CAT is a Computer Based Test in Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning.
The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) And in some of the other prestigious institutions that would accept CAT scores for admission.
The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) use the test as an important component in selecting students for the business management programs.
CAT 2011 Eligibility
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [Require only 45 percentage marks in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste , Scheduled Tribe and Differently Abled categories].
The qualification criterion that is needed for a student to apply for the Common Admission Test (CAT) is a graduate degree from an approved college. The students can be from any stream, but they are required to have a score of atleast 50 percent in their final exams. Those who are writing their final year exam are qualified to appear for the exam too.
